iBeacon: Will it change the Indoor Positioning market?

A few weeks back, Aleks did an interview with the CEO of Estimote, where we got a glimpse of what we can expect from iBeacon teachnology (here’s the link to the interview).

Maurizio Fantato‘s insight:

There is no doubt this technology has huge potential.  Like one of the examples cited, imagine being able to look at yourself actually wearing the suit you are thinking of buying, or being invited to taste something while you’re looking at a restaurant’s menu as you’re strolling along your High Street.   The possibilities are limited only by imagination, and the willingness of shops to implement this technology.  Locational marketing, be it through normal devices like smartphones, watches, glasses, or whatever you may care to use is definitely going to be the way ahead.
